FAQ
- 01Typical therapy generally focuses on addressing a broad range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship issues through individual or couples counseling. Sex therapy, on the other hand, is a specialized form of therapy that specifically addresses sexual health and intimacy concerns, including sexual dysfunction, desire discrepancies, trauma related to sexuality, and communication about sex within relationships. Delivered exclusively via telehealth, our sex therapy services combine clinical expertise with a safe, confidential environment to help clients explore and resolve sexual and intimacy challenges, complementing the broader mental health support offered through typical therapy. This distinction ensures that clients receive targeted care aligned with their unique needs while benefiting from the holistic approach central to my practice.

- 05Sex therapy may be a good fit if you're experiencing desire discrepancies, intimacy avoidance, or sexual disconnection in a relationship, especially if past therapy didn't address sexuality directly. It's not a fit if there's ongoing coercion or abuse, a partner unwilling to engage honestly, or if you're looking for insurance-covered care or quick technique -based fixes.

- 12Your first therapy session is a welcoming and supportive introduction tailored to help you feel comfortable and understood. We begin by getting to know you and discussing what brought you to therapy, whether it's individual challenges, relationship concerns, or questions around intimacy. Tammy will ask about your personal history, current situation, and your goals for therapy to create a personalized treatment plan. This session also provides an opportunity for you to ask questions about the telehealth process, confidentiality, and how therapy works. By the end, you’ll have a clear sense of the therapy approach we’ll use together and feel confident about taking the next steps toward healing and growth.
